I'd like to share some of what I learned spending long hours in a small room with a small woman in a hospital bed. The world shrunk. Time stood still.

The truth is, in this world, stress will always be a part of our lives. We cannot rid ourselves of it entirely. It’s a part of being human.

As you can see, simplicity and structure were gifts to me that relieved a lot of my stress.

I think it is a good thing to think about the heart issues that often lie under the surface of stress. 

A "No, thank you" is rejection at some level. It's a common experience. And it hurts.

God has kindly put battles in my life from which I would have liked to have run.

Do you want your children to have a safe place of peace, a refuge, from the storms of life?

Our individual paths to have may take different turns. But we will see the it was a kind and gracious path that Jesus led each of us on.

There is a fear that is healthy -  a humble awareness of what is exceedingly greater than us that captivates our hearts.

When circumstances in life move us, or better said, when God uses the circumstance in life to move us, He moves his tent with ours. 

Having little boxes to check off every day often took the joy from reading and made it a duty to accomplish.

Do you see how unsuspectingly a good desire became a prideful one? 

Suffering precedes glory. This was God’s plan from the beginning of time.

Mothering is a constant laying down of one’s life for another.  It often means not getting enough sleep. 

It was only then I realized that I was wearing an invisible melancholy shawl. I had the blues. The weepies. A gentle unsettledness.
